DETAILS OF EXAMINATION FEES FOR THE DIPLOMA BOARD EXAMINATIONS:
PASSING REQUIREMENT OF THE STUDENTSFor a pass in the Board Examinations a candidate has to secure a minimum of 40% in each of the theory subjects and 50% in practical subjects including 25% marks for Lab Record Book maintained by the Students. CLASSIFICATION OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATESi) All successful candidates securing not less than 75% marks of the subjects of III, IV, V and VI Semesters, shall be declared to have passed the Examination in the ‘First Class’ with ‘Honours’ provided they should have completed the course in 3 years. PROCEDURE FOR COMPLETING THE COURSEi) The candidate on completion of studies in each semester or year should necessarily register himself for all the subjects of the current examination as well as for all the arrear subjects of all the previous semester or year examinations and shall appear for the Board Examinations of that semester or year. ii) A candidate will not be permitted to proceed to the next higher semester course of study unless he/she has registered himself and appeared for the Board Examinations as stipulated in clause (i) above. However, if a candidate after registering for the examinations is unable to appear for the current examinations on valid grounds prior permission of the Chairman, Board of Examinations has to be obtained before commencing the course of study in the next higher, semester. If the candidate fails to satisfy the attendance regulations in any semester or year, he has to repeat the course of study in that semester or year and then only register for Board examinations as per rule above. However, such candidates can be permitted to appear for all the arrear subjects by registering for all of them. iii) Candidates will not be permitted to continue the course of study and write the examinations if there is a continuous break of study for more than two years during any part of their course of study. For candidates for whom continuous break in the study is less than two years prior permission of the Chairman, Board of Examinations is necessary to continue the course and write the examination. iv) To obtain the “withheld” final mark sheet, the student should apply in the prescribed form and attach the Xerox copies (photography) of the mark sheets of all the semester duly verified and signed by the principal. Duplicate Diploma CertificateThe Chairman, RE-VALUATION OF MARKS SECURED IN BOARD EXAMINATIONSIf a candidate is of opinion that the marks awarded to him in Board Examination is less than what he expected, he can apply in the prescribed form for the Xerox copy of his valued Answer paper to The Chairman, Board of Examinations, office of Dote, Chennai-600 025 along with Demand Draft for RS.1 00/- payable at Chennai and taken in favour of “Additional Director, Examinations, office of Dote,” Chennai-25. On scrutiny of the Xerox copy of his valued Answer paper, he can apply for re-valuation of his Answer paper in the prescribed form to The Chairman, Board of Examinations, Dote, along with Demand Draft for Rs.400/- payable at Chennai and taken in favour of Additional Director, Examinations, Dote. The student should apply separate application and D.D. for each paper for which he wants Xerox copy and Re-valuation. TRANSFER CERTIFICATEThe transfer certificate will be issued to the Candidates along with the mark sheet of the final semester/year examinations. In the Transfer Certificate of such candidates against the Column “Whether eligible for higher studies” it will be filled as “refer to the mark sheets”. If the candidates has to appear for Board Examinations in the failed subjects, if any after obtaining the transfer certificate the candidate need not surrender the T.C. to the Principal. However he/she should appear for the examination only as a supplementary candidate through the polytechnic in which the candidate studied and submit his/her application for the examination through the Principal only and not as a private candidate. For the Candidates who had involved in the Malpractice during Board Examination the transfer certificates will not be issued to them till the punishment period is over. “Break of Period for re-admission Revised instructions”For the students who have joined the course |
